Experience: 1 to 2 years Salary range: 25,000- 30,000 JOB OFFER The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing supplies, materials, and services effectively and timely to ensure that user requirements are met to the highest possible standards. The selected candidate is also responsible for suggesting potential areas for improvement following applicable best practices in the field.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guarantee that all control procedures established for the procurement sections are always followed.
- Oversee delivery of all goods and services to ensure items are delivered as ordered and advice on any deviations
- Make sure all suppliers have gone through prequalification processes before doing business with them.
- Ensure effective relationships with existing sources of goods and services and develop other sources, either as alternatives or to meet emerging or planned needs.
- Coordinate purchasing activities, e.g., annual bidding process, while ensuring the protection of the company's cost structure and obtaining the best value for money in all supplies.
- Negotiate with suppliers, raise purchase Indents, draft contracts with selected suppliers with the Line Manager's approval.
- Involve the technical team in purchasing spare parts and understand the use of the equipment/spare parts that are purchased.
- Verify the suppliers and ensure that the selected suppliers are credible, reliable, and capable of delivering the required goods or services.
- Negotiate with suppliers the best payment conditions, price options, and discounts.
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and purchasing budgets.
